Beautifully and lovingly made, Louise O'Connor's ceramic animal sculptures are individually sculpted and hand painted. Her work can be described a light hearted parody of mostly the fun sides of human nature depicted through animal imagery in clay. Mostly using her hands, Louise sculpts with minimal help from a few tools. After the first firing, the animals are hand painted with oxides, glazes and slips before being fired to stoneware to make them stronger. Each piece is unique, and is the only one in the world, with a character all to itself.
