“During lockdown I spent a lot of time walking in Tollymore Forest which was largely empty and silent save for the wind in the trees, the sounds of the river and birdsong. To be able to watch Spring unfurl, see normally shy birds and animals take over spaces normally filled with humans was quite amazing. This piece of work was created during lockdown and aims to capture the abundance of nature, its fertility and also the sense of freedom and space it affords via the free flying birds. We as a society may have been locked down but for me personally it allowed me freedom to witness how nature and regrowth cannot be locked up or held back.”
