George Gourley

Cookstown, Northern Ireland

George Gourley was born in a rural Cookstown. It was then unspoilt by development or industrial farming methods. The people were characters and their lifestyles simpler than today. He paints watercolour scenes of local towns and villages in Sepia. He loves the tones and challenges it offers and uses burnt sienna to bring warmth to his work. George is now retired after 35 years of teaching and is a member of the Ulster Watercolour Society.
