After growing up in his family’s woodworking business, George Brain completed a 1-year full time apprenticeship at Rinzai Wood and obtained a Diploma in Three-Dimensional Design at Cape Peninsula University of Technology. Relocating from Cape Town to County Fermanagh in 2022, George Brain and Gigi Potter then began Woodmento. A family run woodworking studio that creates handmade, unique, solid-wood ‘memento’ boxes with marquetry inlays, and original illustrations and designs. Through the use of sustainably grown timber with natural oils and waxes, these ‘memento’ boxes have been carefully crafted to not only be beautiful, but also durable.
