​​​​​​​Emma Spence is an artist and works from her home. Her art is a response to an ongoing exploration of history and her surroundings. She uses mixed media on board, incorporating old wallpaper, documents and scribbled notes on some of her works creating a base of texture for the application of paint. Her individual response to a subject aims to evoke memories and present the raw beauty of our cultural identity. She believes ‘the subject, is the matter of recognition for the viewer’.
