Derek Melville | Artist Focus

Derek Melville was born in Belfast and now lives rurally with his wife, a potter, and their three children. Working in acrylic, Derek's work is bold and rich in colour. He paints to portray his perception of the environment such as mountains, boglands, coasts and rural pathways and is intrinsically drawn to scenes that connect with and represent timeless beauty of the natural landscape. Derek is a highly regarded artist and has had numerous solo exhibitions.

As part of our series of Artist Focus events, Derek will be upstairs at klöver haus and available to talk about his artistic journey between 12pm and 3pm on Saturday 9th December. A collection of his latest original work will also be on display and available to purchase from Saturday 9th to Saturday 16th December.
