Anna Smyth's contemporary handcrafted items usually begin on the potter’s wheel. Based in Newtownards, she uses her work to express ideas inspired by life experiences or observations. This results in each piece having its own meaning.

This beautiful plate features Marlow Lock, Lock Island and the Compleat Angler hotel in Marlow in the map detail. It is handmade from porcelain and finished with celadon blue glaze, ceramic transfer and gold lustre. It is part of a series of plates which include extracts of old ordnance survey maps of Marlow in Buckinghamshire.
